Hajdana Baletic was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, now Serbia where she has studied dramaturgy. Her plays have been produced in Belgrade (Atelje 212, Yugoslav Drama Theatre) and London. She wrote for Fox Kids TV, RTS, TV Politika, Treci Kanal. Her play "Dead Man's Coat" was filmed as a TV drama for Radio Television of Serbia. Her screenplay for a feature film "Take a Deep Breath" was directed by Dragan Marinkovic, the film won Best Foreign Language Film award at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival 2005. Her novel "Take Me to Another Place" was published to critical acclaim by Stubovi Kulture. Hajdana lives and works in London. She was recently selected for Guiding Lights mentoring scheme supported by Skillset and UK Film Council.
Hajdana has dramatised Danilo Kis's autobiographical novel "Garden, Ashes", staged at Yugoslav Drama Theatre.She had a column on London film and art scene in magazine Prestup.Hajdana directed and assisted-directed several plays in Serbia and UK. She has worked as a radio and TV presenter and had her own TV program "Early Works" where she interviewed established and up and coming artists, directors, composers.
